Small satellite manufacture is exhibited Nano Avionics at Space-Comm Expo 2022.

Hi, my name is Arthur Cunningham, I work for NanoAvionics and I’m here at The Space Comm Expo in Farnborough in the UK.

NanoAvionics are a micro to small-sat bus provider.
So we’ll take a customer coming to us and maybe they have a payload or maybe they just have a requirement for a mission, be it an earth-observation satellite.
So we’ll take a customer coming to us and maybe they have a payload or maybe they just have a requirement for a mission, be it an earth-observation satellite.

We will build the satellite bus around their payload and we will source and build the sub-systems ourselves to make sure that we have a satellite that pertains to their requirements.

So myself as a systems engineer, I’ll take customer requirements on stuff like pointing accuracy, positional accuracy, power systems.
And I’ll design the system around their payload.
And I’ll design the system around their payload.

So we build an array of satellites from down to small 3U micro-satellites to 6, 12, 16U.

And then we also have a new model the MP42 which can go up to about 100kg in total weight,

which is in a real class of its own at the minute in that sort of small satellite sector.
The company itself NanoAvionics started about eight years ago and was a spinout from the Lithuanian, Vilnius University.

It was started by a group of friends who put a satellite into orbit.

And then essentially saw that there’d be a great commercial opportunity for it.
And we’re now a company of a hundred and seventy employees spanning four locations around the world: Lithuania, UK and the US.
