Hello my name is Tom and I run tom’s studio.
I started six years ago now hand making calligraphy pens.

My wife was using a cheap mass-produced pen so I decided that I’d make her one from scratch on my father-in-law’s lathe.
I made a pen not too dissimilar to this one.
So this is a hand cast resin oblique calligraphy pen.
Then I posted a picture of this on instagram and people started buying them.
And following me and my business just sort of grew from there.
So six years later I’ve designed a different and larger range of calligraphy pens.

This is a new pen called the bloom.
It has an adjustable flange so you can put any nib size in it really easily.
You can also store your nibs in the pen body.
And from that point I also started designing fountain pens which use a calligraphic style nib.

I took everything that i’d learned from making calligraphy pens and applied it to fountain pens.
I’ve got a pen called the spark which is a beautifully customizable pen.
So you can put any gemstone that you like in the actual top finial part of the pen.
And then it comes with an amazing nib that is flexible so that you can get calligraphic strokes.

It’s a really beautiful pen which comes in a variety of different colors and it just feels lovely in the hand.
So they start at 85 pounds for something like the bloom.
A spark pen like this is around 95 pounds.
